    Job Description: The RN will be working closely with the physician to ensure that clinic runs smoothly. RN will be responsible for calling patients back to the exam rooms, assisting with procedures, scheduling surgeries, returning phone messages and other duties assigned by physician.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
    • Must have great computer skills and the ability to multi-task
    • Would prefer to have someone with at least 2 years of orthopedic experience

    Work Schedule: M - F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (hours may vary when physician is in clinic)

    Job Description: Southern Surgery Center is seeking a full-time surgical tech. The surgical tech assists the physicians during surgery.

    Job Responsibilities include:

    • Serves as scrub person for surgical procedures.
    • Follows department procedures for scrub persons by assembling surgical packs, supplies and instruments for surgical cases and preparing operating room for surgery.
    • Assures adequate amount of appropriate supplies and instrumentation are available in accordance with surgeon’s preference and counts all instruments, needles, and sponges with registered nurse according to procedure.
    • Inventories and monitors instruments, sponges and needles on operative field using department count procedures.
    • Adjusts instrumentation and supplies to changes in procedures and patient condition.
    • Anticipates surgeon’s needs and assists surgeon by draping patients, holding/passing instruments, retractors, sutures, and medications, applying surgical dressings, suctioning and sponging surgical wounds, holding extremities, and moving patients.
    • Adjusts priorities and participates in resolving problems as appropriate.
    • Performs or assists in sterile preps as needed/requested by monitoring aseptic techniques of surgical team members at field, reporting and correcting breaks in sterile technique immediately, and controlling location of contaminated instruments and supplies.
    • Maintains appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment by restocking room with necessary equipment and supplies and apprises supervisor of special requests for surgical supplies and equipment.
    • Assists with decontamination of all equipment, instruments, and supplies as necessary and assists with cleaning rooms, furniture, and equipment according to established procedures

    Requirements:

    • Graduate from accredited School for Surgical Technology
    • Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required

    Job Description: The Total Joint Coordinator will be a Registered Nurse that provides quality pre-operative patient education to all total joint patients so as to enhance patient knowledge and understanding of the importance of patient compliance in regard to all aspects of care. This position coordinates and controls the multi-disciplinary activities for the total joint surgical patients, fostering optimal patient outcomes. This RN also performs a selective nursing assessment on patient medication for educational purposes. This RN provides extensive education on each procedure for each phase of the process including Pre-Op, Intra-Op and Post-op.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Licensed RN in Mississippi
    • Current CPR and ACLS certification
    • At least one year of experience in an acute care setting
    • Computer and medical software skills

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. Rotating telephone on-call.
