  • COLLECTOR


    Job Description: Responsible for processing and collection activity on all past due patient account balances. Duties also include contacting patients prior to scheduled procedures to notify them on deposits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ability to calculate insurance co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
    • Advises patient on his / her insurance coverage and benefits before a procedure or treatment
    • Generates patient statements
    • Processes and maintains reoccurring credit card payment processing
    • Processes and releases outstanding patient balances to third-party collectors
    • Monitors collection agency report of payment on a regular basis
    • Works directly with collection agencies
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma required and at least 2 years of health care billing experience is preferred
    • Exceptional data entry and typing skills and knowledge of Excel and Word
    • Working knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding from a reimbursement perspective
    • Familiar with all types of insurance, explanation of benefits and payment posting
    • Must have good math skills

    Work Schedule: M – F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Job Description: The Patient Account Rep is responsible for processing the patients when they come to see a physician. They are responsible for collecting co-pays, past due balances, getting medical history from the patient and working A/R.

    Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Experience required in one or more of the following areas: patient care, public relations, customer service or other related area. Previous knowledge of dealing with different types of insurances in a medical setting is preferred.
