Fellowship-trained Nonsurgical Sports Medicine Physician
Christopher Penton, M.D., is a fellowship-trained nonsurgical sports medicine physician.
Penton received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Mississipppi College, his medical degree from the University of Mississippi. He trained in a diagnostic radiology residency and completed a family medicine residency in Texas. Penton completed a sports medicine fellowship at JPS Health in Arlington, Texas.
Dr. Penton can treat many patients with nonsurgical intervention. He offers ultrasound-guided procedures for joint, tendon and muscle injections. Dr. Penton also performs diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound exams, MRI arthrograms and TenJet for tennis elbow and chronic tendinopathy. Dr. Penton’s area of interest include dislocation, fracture management, pediatric sports medicine and college athletic coverage. He also uses treatment options such as viscosupplementation and orthobiologics like platelet-rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate.
Penton will see patients in Picayune and Wiggins clinics.
